Twitpic Week #2
Another episode of Twitpic recaps! Much like leg-shaking and online shopping, this is turning out to be a fun habit.
I was over at the Curve to catch the screening of "Shutter Island" (review) when the sight of a boarded-up lot caught my eye - Burt's Bees (site)! They're finally opening it here in Malaysia!
Now for those obsessed with the eternal search for perfectly pillow-soft lips, Burt's Bees lipbalm is something that you would probably have crossed paths with, mostly through word-of-mouth. It's lipbalm is legendary! Almost like Kiehl's lipbalm actually. Made with honey or beeswax or some other substance that comes from a bee, Burt's Bees are known for using mostly natural ingredients in its products. It's only previously available internationally, so most people I know have resorted to getting it via sprees online or promising friends a roti canai and a back massage so they'd buy it for them from overseas.
The picture above shows it as a work in progress, but I popped over again last weekend and it was open! The first Burt's Bees outlet in Malaysia is now at the Curve! Right in front of Borders, because bookworms tend to neglect lip care once in awhile. They have a pretty wide range of products available like lipbalms (original, flavoured, tinted and the ones in a tin), salves, haircare and skincare products and more! I've only ever heard of their lipbalm, so it's pretty cool to go poking around and see what else they've got.
It's a wee bit pricey though (expected of course) with the original lipbalm going at RM18 (but still cheaper than Kiehl's). Am quite upset as I just bought a new lipbalm about 2 weeks ago D:
P.S. A little birdie told me that the next outlet will be at The Gardens Mall real soon.
After a dinner of pho and beef stew, we had time to kill before "Shutter Island", so a white chocolate frappe at Theobroma is always a good killer of time.
I used to be a breakfast person back in college. I could never leave the house without having a glass of Milo or stuffing my face with carbs. It's a dying habit these days, and one that I wish I had the time to revive again because having breakfast makes me eat less during lunch (always a good thing)!
Not sure if it works for the rest of you, but some bruschetta seems to cure a runny nose quite well.
And a coffee ice cream pie swimming in chocolate sauce!!
I'm getting better at this whole breakfast thing.
Was on the way to Low Yatt Plaza with David whilst the PC Fair was going on at KLCC last weekend, and we stopped at this pan mee shop near Jalan Bukit Bintang for lunch.
I am not a pan mee person. To me, all pan mee tastes the same (aka blasphemy). It's just the crazy people who smother their pan mee in chilli and somehow enjoy producing searing hot missiles of doom the next day in the toilet. But this pan mee is magical! It's probably the sauce, but this is one of the two pan mee places I would voluntarily go to! The other one is a mushroom pan mee somewhere in KL.
What a horrible picture! I swear, it looked so much better on my phone when I took it. Blob on the left is Jamie and blob on the right is Kel Li. We were at the inaugural Girl's Night Out (GNO) at Souled Out, Sri Hartamas.
Basically an excuse to dress up, put a little red lipstick on and drink expensive milkshakes! Dont judge us!
Oh, I almost forgot! Went for the Foursquare Day event on Friday night! It was almost like a tweetup anyway with a lot of familiar faces, but good job to the organising committee for making it happen! Ended the night with a special Foursquare Day badge, too much bak kut teh and err.. Watched "Ice Kacang Puppy Love".
